On 22 October 2013, the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Court of Arbitration (“the Shanghai FTZ Arbitration Centre”) was declared to be established by the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (“the SHIAC”). The setup of the Shanghai FTZ Arbitration Centre is to resolve commercial disputes in the Free Trade Zone, and enhance the professional level and internationalization of the Chinese arbitration system. The SHIAC will support and help Shanghai FTZ Arbitration Centre to provide efficient services in line with international practices.
